Vietnam, UK hold 6th strategic dialogue
(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh hosted a reception for UK Foreign Office Minister for Asia and the Pacific Mark Field in Hanoi on Friday. Mr. Minh praised the results of the just concluded 6th Vietnam-UK strategic dialogue and positive developments of bilateral strategic partnership.

Mr. Field spoke highly of the effective and dynamic development of the two countries’ relations, reiterating the UK government’s priority of deepening the strategic partnership.
Earlier the same day, he and Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son co-chaired the 6th Vietnam-UK strategic dialogue. The two sides agreed to increase the exchange of all-level delegations while fruitfully implementing the strategic dialogue mechanism on diplomacy, national defense and security.
They will increase the promotion of trade, investment, culture and tourism, and people-to-people exchange, along with intensifying their cooperation in international forums. The two countries will also boost cooperation in education and vocational training to develop high-quality human resources for Vietnam.
The UK official stressed on the continued implementation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms and the Defense Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries. The UK will continue supporting Vietnam in joining UN peace-keeping activities.
Vietnam and the UK repeat their commitment to closely coordinating in fighting organized crimes, human trafficking, illegal migration, and illegal trade of wildlife.
The Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister and the UK Foreign Office Minister for Asia and the Pacific compared notes on regional and international issues of common concern, agreeing on the importance of improving the efficiency of global administration as well as regional linkages, and the role of international law in resolving global issues.
