Vietnam unbeaten in 18 straight football matches
(VOVWORLD) - The world football governing body FIFA has recognized the Vietnam national football team’s record undefeated streak on its website.
Vietnam will take its 18-game unbeaten streak into the Asian Cup 2019. Vietnam was ranked 130th in the FIFA World Ranking in September 2017. After winning the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 the team finished the calendar year in the top 100 for the first time since 2012.
Coach Park Hang-seo and his team are now preparing to meet Iraq, Iran, and Yemen at the ongoing AFC Asian Cup 2019 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This will mark Vietnam’s first return in 12 years. Vietnam reached the quarterfinals at AFC Asian Cup 2007.
