Vietnam, Uruguay promote multifaceted cooperation

Ninh has held talks with Astori, met with President Jose Mujica and worked with Foreign Minister Luis Almagro. The leaders agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in several areas, maintain the exchange of visits, and continue negotiations on cooperative agreements in each specific area. They agreed to increase coordination and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums, such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation. During his visit, Ninh witnessed the signing of two important documents, a framework agreement on trade and investment, and a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA). The Uruguay Foreign Minister handed to Ninh a protocol recognizing Vietnam as a full market economy.
