Vietnam, US sign antidumping agreement
(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade on Monday signed an agreement with the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the Trade Representative (USTR) on anti-dumping duties on imported Vietnamese shrimp. The two sides settled two World Trade Organization (WTO) disputes, in which Vietnam sued the US for violating WTO regulations by imposing anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese shrimp.

On May 20th, the DOC began administrative procedures to comply with the WTO findings in Vietnam’s suits. The DOC issued preliminary decisions to adjust the dumping margin for the Minh Phu Seafood Corporation to 0%, meaning that major Vietnamese shrimp exporter Minh Phu didn’t dump shrimp products on the US market and will no longer be subject to anti-dumping duties.
Vietnam hailed the US’s goodwill and effort in resolving the issue.
