The country moved up 12 steps in just one year from the 14th out of the 68 destinations last year, said InterNations, the world’s largest expat community with 3.6 million members, in the survey. Vietnam is only behind China’s Taiwan which secures the first place, and followed by Portugal. Expats are particularly happy with their career prospects and their jobs in general in Vietnam, the survey reported.  Vietnam is not only the highest-ranking place when it comes to working abroad but it is also the best destination for personal finance it said.

Also in the top 10 best destinations are two other Southeast Asian places – Singapore, and Malaysia, while the worst for expats include Kuwait, Italy and Nigeria.
