Vietnam wants to attract more direct investment from Germany

(VOVworld) – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan has expressed his hope that through the German-Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, each country’s businesses would better understand the other’s, thus luring greater German direct investment to Vietnam.

At a reception on Wednesday for Wolfgang Manig, Charge D'affaires of the German Embassy in Vietnam, Nhan suggested that Germany accept more Vietnamese nurses and IT professionals. He was confident that the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany would bear fruit.

Manig told the host that Germany and Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade were working together for the establishment of a German-Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said Germany would continue to expand the Vietnam-Germany University to help Vietnam develop a quality workforce, making the country more competitive when it participates in free trade activities. Manig promised to do his best in his new position to accelerate bilateral cooperation.
