(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam welcomed more than 1.5 million foreign tourists in January, up 10% from the previous month, according to the General Statistics Office.

The increase is attributed to the widespread promotion of Vietnamese tourism and the global view of Vietnam as a safe and friendly destination.
The ASEAN Tourism Awards ceremony held on Friday on the sidelines of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2024 in Vientiane, Laos, Vietnam won 25 awards in 6 categories.
They are ASEAN Green Hotel Award, ASEAN Clean Tourism City Award, ASEAN MICE Awards for Meeting Rooms, ASEAN MICE Award for Exhibition Venue, ASEAN MICE Awards for Event Venues, ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Awards, and Gastronomy Tourism theme.
