Vietnam wins big at 2014 International Physics Olympiad
(VOVworld) -Vietnamese students have bagged three gold and two silver medals at the 45th International Physics Olympiad taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan from July 13-21, placing overall among the top ten.
This is the highest achievement ever of Vietnamese students at the International Physics Olympiad. The three gold medal went to Cao Ngoc Thai, a 12th grader from Pham Boi Chau gifted high school in central Nghe An province; Do Thi Bich Hue, a 12th grader from the gifted high school under the Hanoi-based University of Natural Science; and Vu Thanh Trung Nam, a 11th grader from Hanoi – Amsterdam gifted high school. This year’s competition drew 383 candidates from 84 countries and territories.
