That was the message from the program ‘For a zero waste world’, which took place in Hanoi on Saturday. The event aimed to raise public awareness of the damage of plastic waste to the ocean, the economy, and people’s health, and urge people to stop using single use plastic.

“There are plenty of non-disposable plastic waste in Hanoi and other provinces. I believe people should be more cautious about how to use plastic effectively without harming the environment,” said Le Thi Thanh from Hanoi.

Scientists estimate that the amount of plastic in the sea will double in the next decade.
