Dung said that the Vietnamese government would continue restructuring its economy, especially public investment, commercial banks, and State-owned enterprises, while realizing international commitments such as the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

Dung suggested the World Bank assist Vietnam in devising a strategy to attract foreign direct investment and a master plan on regional development and in technology transfers.

World Bank Vice President of Development Finance Axel van Trotsenburg reiterated the Bank’s commitment to working closely with Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, which coordinates ODA funding, to make full use of its assistance in line with the Vietnamese government’s priorities.
