(VOVworld) – On Wednesday Vietnamese Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh and Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan hailed the third border defense friendship exchange between the two countries as a success, which will benefit bilateral defense cooperation and each country’s security. According to Minister Thanh, the two armies will promote border defense friendship exchanges, hold high-level delegation exchanges in the Gulf of Tonkin, implement border agreements effectively, and increase communications on the two countries’ legal border documents.

The two leaders reiterated the need for closer coordination on East Sea issues and honoring signed agreements. They agreed that disputes should be resolved peacefully and diplomatically based on international law to ensure regional peace and stability. Vietnam and China intend to enhance cooperation in personnel training and the defense industry.
