The 2-day program was co-chaired by Vietnam’s Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich, and China’s Politburo member and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission Senior Lieutenant General Fan Chang Long.
During talks in Yunnan on Sunday, Lich and Fan shared the view that the program is of great significance in consolidating mutual trust and understanding and boosting confidence in a border of peace, stability and friendship between the two countries. They agreed to continue the exchange in the coming years, making it a typical activity of the two armies.
In an interview with VOV, Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh said the event was a great success.
“This program helps enhance trust between the two Parties and armies which serves as a foundation for Vietnam and China to bridge their differences on the basis of mutual respect and shared interests and respect for international law,” Vinh said.
