During talks on future relations between Vietnam and Asia with the US at the Center for the National Interest in Washington on Wednesday, Ambassador Vinh highlighted the great prospects for closer cooperation. He urged the US to remove trade barriers and recognize Vietnam’s economy as market-based to help Vietnamese goods enter the American market more easily. He stressed the importance of the two countries tapping their cooperation potential in education-training, tourism, and science-technology. Ambassador Vinh said the two should coordinate with ASEAN nations and other regional countries in protecting the environment, adapting to climate change, and ensuring maritime security, peace, and stability in the East Sea.
