(VOVworld) - Vietnamese painter Le Dinh Quy gave the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam a portrait of Cuban leader Fidel Castro on the occasion of his 89th birthday (August 13).

Addressing the event in Hanoi on Thursday, Liurka Rodriguez Barrios, Charge d’affaires of the Cuban Embassy, thanked the artist for his painting of Castro, calling the portrait proof of the solidarity and special friendship between the two countries.

Painter Quy expressed his love and admiration for the Cuban leader and people, saying that it was an honor to present the work to the embassy on the occasion of Fidel’s birthday.

Painter Le Dinh Quy, a senior member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, has one of Vietnam’s largest collections of large lacquer paintings.
