Nepalese authorities said Wednesday that the number of people killed or missing may continue to rise due to bad weather and difficult rescue work. 38 foreign tourists stuck in the mountains have been moved to a safer place.
According to local authorities, the victims of the snowstorm include 1 Vietnamese, 2 Israelis, 1 Pole, 4 Canadians, and 8 Nepalese. Some 100 people are still out of contact as bad weather has affected telecommunications.
Rescue work was suspended Wednesday night due to bad weather and poor visibility.
