The Embassy has maintained close contact with nearly 300 Vietnamese students and tourists in about 20 localities in China. It has supported 7 Vietnamese tourists with visa procedures due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

30 Vietnamese students and their relatives, including children, are healthy and living in the dormitory of Tsinghua University in Wuhan city. Nguyen Thi Hien, a post-graduate at Tsinghua University, said the university provides them with facial masks, thermometers, and hand cleansing gel. Students make daily health reports to the university.

“Since the epidemic broke out, the Vietnamese Embassy has paid special care to the life of Vietnamese students and their relatives in Wuhan. The Embassy has contacted us and formed groups to take care of each other’s health. The Embassy has given us material support and encouragement,” Hien said

The Vietnamese Embassy has asked the Chinese hospital to provide treatment for a Vietnamese infected with the new coronavirus and continue to keep a close watch on her conditions. She is in stable health conditions and suffers no fever.

The Vietnamese Foreign Ministry has kept close contact with agencies on plans to transport Vietnamese citizens in China’s affected areas to Vietnam if necessary. Overseas Vietnamese agencies have worked with local administrations to update information and stand by hotlines to support Vietnamese citizens in need.
