Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh said that with serious and thorough preparation, resolve, and effort, the delegation will attain the best possible results at the games.
“The Olympics is a fierce sports arena gathering a large number of the world’s leading athletes. I hope that the officials, coaches, and athletes of the Vietnam delegation will be fully aware of their responsibilities, compete with their strongest determination, comply with the organizers’ rules, and help to strengthen Vietnam’s solidarity, friendship, and cooperation with international friends. Each member should be a goodwill ambassador introducing Vietnam’s culture and hospitality via the Olympics.”
The delegation consists of 43 members, including 18 athletes competing in 11 sports.
