He added the success of the project helps to create conditions for UN officials and staff to accomplish the mission of preserving peace, stability and development in Abyei.
Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr, UNISFA Force Commander and Acting Head of Mission, emphasized that turning Highway from the shabbiest place to one of the most modern and beautiful bases in the mission is a proud result made by the Vietnam Engineer Team.
The Smart Camp project at Highway started construction on March 28 last year. The Vietnamese engineers have been embarking on building smart barracks for units stationed in the Abyei area.
