(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Business Association in Australia has sent a letter to Prime Minister Tony Abbot and delegates to the G20 summit in Brisbane, Queensland to express its concern about recent developments in the East Sea, which have caused tension in the region. The Association called on Australia, currently President of the G20 and the UN Security Council to stress the common interests of Australia and the G20 in maintaining peace, stability, respect to international law, non-obstructed trade, and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea. It also asked Australia to urge all parties to cooperate on ensuring maritime security and safety n the East Sea. Many Vietnamese students and researchers in Australia have signed an open letter sent by the Vietnamese Students’ Association at Griffith University to the G20 summit to help international friends understand more about the East Sea situation and support Vietnam in safeguarding its national maritime sovereignty.
