Vietnamese in RoK forge closer ties of the two nations: NA Chairwoman

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan met with representatives from Vietnam-RoK families in Busan on Wednesday, as part of her ongoing official visit to the Republic of Korea.

The top legislator said Vietnamese in the RoK in general and Vietnam-RoK multicultural families in particular are serving as an important bridge to forge connectivity, cooperation and development of the two nations. She added Vietnamese Party, State and people always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation. Ms. Ngan said:“The Party and State leaders hope that Overseas Vietnamese will consider the RoK their second homeland, make greater contributions to the country, abide the RoK law, and promote Vietnamese cultural identities. By doing so, Overseas Vietnamese will contribute to fostering the bilateral friendship between Vietnam and the RoK and developing Vietnam.”

On Wednesday, Ms. Ngan visited the Pukyung National University, where she was conferred with the honorable doctorate degree in politics. Afterwards, the top legislator talked with Vietnamese students studying there. She said: “The Vietnamese Party and State identify education development a primary policy, which decides how rapidly and sustainably Vietnam will advance forward in the future.  At its 6th session, the National Assembly approved the Law on Amendments to the Law on Education to institutionalize the reforms of tertiary education.”

In the afternoon, the National Assembly Chairwoman left Busan for Seoul, continuing her official visit to the Republic of Korea.
