(VOVWORLD) - Lao Party leader and President Bounnhang Vorachith said Laos will continue to work with Vietnam to nurture their special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

The statement came following a banquet hosted by the Lao leader for Vietnam’s Party leader and President Nguyen Phu Trong in Vientiane on Sunday.
Mr. Trong said Vietnam will do its best to protect and foster the special solidarity between the two countries. “Now more than ever, the two Parties, States, and peoples need to join hands to promote the tradition of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual assistance, continuing to firmly advance the two nations’ revolutionary causes towards socialism”, he said.
The same day, Mr. Trong met former Party General Secretary and President of Laos Choumaly Sayasone and visited the construction site of the Lao National Assembly House - a gift from the Vietnamese Party, State, and people.
