Vietnamese leaders pay respect to former Japanese PM Abe
(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi Monday to pay tribute to late Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo.

President Phuc wrote in the condolences book that Vietnamese leaders and people will always treasure and remember the profound sentiments and valuable support former PM Abe reserved for Vietnam and their bilateral friendship.
During Mr. Abe's term as prime minister, he left a special and meaningful impressions when it came to the establishment and consolidation of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia, President Phuc said.

PM Pham Minh Chinh wrote the death of Mr. Abe Shinzo is not only a huge loss for Japan, but for the entire international community, including Vietnam. He said under Mr. Abe’s leadership, relations between Vietnam and Japan moved to a new stage of fruitful development.
Mr. Abe, 67, died last Friday after being shot while giving a speech in Japan's Nara Prefecture. During his eight years as Japan's prime minister, Mr. Abe visited Vietnam four times.
