(VOVworld) – Vietnamese longan is likely to sold in the US market at the end of this year following the US’s Department of Agriculture’s licensing of some Vietnamese agricultural products, including litchi and longan.

Hoang Trung, Deputy Director of the Plant Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said this opens up more opportunities not only for litchi and longan exports but also other Vietnamese agricultural products. He said the Department will assist the litchi and longan growers with technology and skills to meet the demand of demanding markets like the US. The Plant Protection Department will work with  the US Quarantine Agency in Vietnam in building the list of regional codes for litchi and longan in North and South of Vietnam before the products are officially exported to the US market.
