Vietnamese Party leader, Cuban president visit Santiago de Cuba
(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Friday left Havana for Santiago de Cuba, a heroic and second largest city of Cuba, as part of his ongoing state visit to Cuba.

Mr. Trong traveled there with First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz. Before leaving Havana, Party leader Trong met with Fernando Gonzales, President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and Marta Rojas, Vice President of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association. The Party leader said he is glad to meet again close friends of Vietnam, who have made great contributions to the rare friendship and loyalty between the two nations. He said that during his state visit to Cuba, the Vietnamese delegation was warmly welcomed and that both sides discussed measures to strengthen bilateral ties. Party leader Trong thanked the Institute and the Association for their activities to develop the Vietnam-Cuba relations.
