(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam finished second in Group 1 of the qualifying round of the “Tank Biathlon”, held at the Alabino military training ground in the suburbs of Moscow at the ongoing International Army Games 2021.

Tank Crew No. 1 of the Vietnam People’s Army hit all five of five targets and completed the course in 24 minutes and 58 seconds. Vietnam finished behind Mongolia and ahead of Venezuela and Syria.
Colonel Phan Hai Long, captain of Vietnam’s tank team, said that Tank Crew No. 1 performed well and completed its task in accordance with the tactics and techniques set out for the team, adding this year’s performance was the best so far.

The International Army Games 2021, organized by Russia's Defense Ministry, opened last Sunday and will continue until next Saturday with 44 countries competing in 34 events. Vietnam will host the Military Medical Relay Race and the Sniper Frontier event.
This is the fourth time Vietnam has taken part in the games, competing in the largest number of events so far.
