The 2018 contest concluded on Sunday in Vietnam’s Ninh Binh province, drawing 19 teams from 18 countries. Japan and Cambodia tied for third place.
The concept this year was “Throwing con”, inspired by a popular folk game at the festivals of northern ethnic minority people. Players throw a ball made from cloth through a ring on top of a bamboo pole. This was the third time Vietnam has hosted the contest for technology students in the Asia-Pacific region.
The 2019 ABU Robocon will be held in Mongolia.
