Vietnam-France ties thrive
(VOVWORLD) - The year 2018 holds special significance for Vietnam-France relations, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Thiep said during a ceremony in Paris on Wednesday marking the 73rd anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).
Mr. Thiep said Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to France in March created momentum for bilateral ties in politics, economics, culture, education, healthcare, and national defense.
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, France’s Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, arrived in Hanoi in January to chair a Vietnam-France economic dialogue. The Vietnam-France dialogue on security and defense strategy held recently in Paris also opened up opportunities for collaboration.
Culture and art activities are underway to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties.
