(VOVworld) - The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) held their fourth theoretical dialogue in Berlin on Tuesday, focusing on political and economic viewpoints on global and regional integration.
The dialogue was attended by Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education, and Edelgard Bumahn, Vice President of German Bundestag.
The SPD shared practices in policy making, particularly the formulation and implementation of policies on global integration at federal and local levels.
Huynh and Bumahn together voiced their deep concern about recent developments in the East Sea and agreed that peaceful resolutions in accordance with international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS), are needed.
The CPV delegation also met with SPD Vice President Thorsten Schafer-Guembel and the two sides updated each other on party congress preparations and other issues.
The SPD Vice President expressed interest in how the CPV has managed Vietnam’s socio-economic development and foreign affairs success over the years. He said he hopes that the two nations will continue to dialogue for enhanced mutual trust and bilateral cooperation.
The CPV delegation will continue studying the SPD’s experience and visit production facilities in Hannover and Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
