Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange opens in Da Nang

(VOVWORLD) - The 2018 Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange festival began in Da Nang on Thursday, marking the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son called the event an opportunity for Vietnamese people to learn from Japan’s experience in urban development and tourism, and to promote bilateral cooperation.

Lam Quang Minh, Director of Da Nang’s Foreign Affairs Department, said: “This is the 5th Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange festival in Da Nang. The event reflects our hope and determination to expand cooperation with localities in Japan.”

The festival which features a tea ceremony, art performances, and an urban development forum, will run through Sunday.
