Speaking at the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trinh Viet Hung said that in recent years, Thai Nguyen has become one of the "production bases" for big investors from the RoK such as: Samsung Group, Dongwha Group, and Hansol Electronics Company. Notably, Samsung invested its first project in Vietnam in this province, with the investment licence granted on March 19, 2013 and the capital of 2 billion USD. To date, the group has poured 7.53 billion USD into Thai Nguyen, contributing importantly to its socio-economic development.
Based on the fine relationship between Vietnam and the RoK, Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk province have engaged in a friendly cooperation since 2005, and achieved a lot of good results.

On this occasion, Vice President Xuan, under the authorization of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, presented a Friendship Order to Lee Byeong-kuk, Director-General of Samsung Electronics Vietnam - Thai Nguyen, in recognition of his contributions to the province’s development in particular and the two countries’ relations in general.
