Vietnam’s active role in regional forums
(VOVworld) - A seminar themed “Asian regional architecture” opened in Washington on Thursday. Vietnamese ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Cuong reiterated that the East Asia Summit scheduled to take place next month will play an important role in developing regional frameworks and regulations towards promoting peace, stability and prosperity in East Asia.

Cuong said that the East Asia Summit should continue to support efforts by ASEAN and China in the implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea towards building a code of conduct in the East Sea (COC). Ambassador Cuong said that Vietnam will bring into full play its active role in regional forums, contributing to pace, stability and development in the Asia Pacific region.
