(VOVWORLD) - The annual Red Spring Festival, the biggest blood donation campaign in Vietnam, has opened in Hanoi with the aim of collecting more than 4,000 blood units to be distributed to 180 medical centers in Vietnam’s northern provinces.

The campaign, launched in 2008 by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and the Hanoi Municipal Steering Board for Blood Donation, has collected more than 85,000 blood units.
Donators are encouraged to register ahead of their participation at hienmau.vn/lehoixuanhong.
The week-long Red Spring Festival, whose slogan is “Safe blood donation-Don’t worry about COVID”, began on Monday at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Hanoi and three permanent blood donation venues in Hanoi - 26 Luong Ngoc Quyen, Hoan Kiem district; 132 Quan Nhan, Thanh Xuan district; and Lane 122 Duong Lang, Dong Da district.
