(VOVworld) - Vietnam’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in January decreased 0.2% compared to the previous month.
According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, three of the 11 groups of communities witnessed the decline. They are housing and construction materials, telecommunications, and transports while the prices of education almost remained unchanged.
The reduction in the oil and gas prices led to decreases in prices of other groups.
The domestic gold price increased 0.55% due to a rise in the global market. During January, the price of US dollars also rose 0.23% because the State Bank of Vietnam raised the inter-bank exchange rate from 21,246 to 21,458 VND.
