Vietnam's digital economy continues to grow fastest in Southeast Asia
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will remain the region’s fastest-growing digital economy until 2025, according to the 8th edition of the e-Conomy SEA Report published on Tuesday by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company.

Vietnam will grow 20% in two years, the same rate as the Philippines, followed by Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Vietnam’s gross merchandise value is expected to near 45 billion USD by 2025, thanks to e-commerce and online tourism.
Vietnam’s digital economy includes e-commerce which will grow 22% to reach 24 billion USD in 2025.
The tourism industry is expected to recover fully this year, thanks mainly to the strong growth of domestic tourism. Other important sectors that continue to grow and contribute to Vietnam's digital economy are transportation, food delivery services, and online media.
Vietnam is the nation with the fastest growth of digital payments in Southeast Asia. While adoption of digital payments in Southeast Asia has reached 50%, the rate in Vietnam rose 19% from 2022 to 2023 and is forecast to maintain a compound annual growth rate of 13% from now until 2025.
