The trade office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico said the rise matches increase in export volume.

Vietnam mainly exports to the second largest Latin America economy mobile phones and parts, leather footwear, computers, electronic goods and components, aquatic products, garments and textiles, vehicle parts, coffee, furniture, and rubber.

Vietnam imported more than 477 million USD worth of products from Mexico in 2015, mostly computers, electronic items, machinery and equipment, animal fees, steel, and metals.

Two-way trade reached nearly 2.23 billion USD, a on-year increase of 56%.

Hoang Tuan Viet, Commercial Counsellor at Vietnam's Embassy in Mexico, attributed the increasing trade to the recently signed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement in Vietnam and the opening of a representative office of the Mexican Import-Export Association (ANIERM).
