Vietnam’s foreign trade likely to hit new record in 2022
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s foreign trade reached 176 billion USD in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%, according to Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy General Director of the Agency of Foreign Trade.

This is the highest growth level ever with exports alone rising nearly 13% during the period.
Vietnam enjoyed relatively high growth in agricultural product shipments, at 18-19%, Hai said, adding that some key exports such as coffee, rice and aquatic products saw even higher growth of up to 50%.
Hai said the surges signal a good year for Vietnam’s foreign trade, attributing to great benefits brought by new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs).
This year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has set a target to gain an export increase of 6 to 8% to fetch 363 billion USD, with trade surplus maintained.
