Vietnam’s longest sea bridge opens to traffic on National Day
(VOVWORLD) -Tan Vu-Lach Huyen Highway in the Hai Phong city, which includes Vietnam’s longest cross-sea bridge, opened to traffic on National Day today, September 2.

The 5.4 kilometre bridge is part of the Tan Vu-Lach Huyen Highway project which connects developing areas in the east of Hai Phong city with Lach Huyen International Port in the island district of Cat Hai and the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway. The highway, 15.6 kilometres in length, had total investment of about 525 million USD, with the majority from Japanese official development assistance.
At the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the road will benefit local socio-economic development, security, and defense. He thanked the Japanese government for providing ODA and close cooperation to complete the construction.
The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the groundbreaking of the Vinfast automobile production complex in Dinh Vu-Cat Hai economic zone. Vinfast company, an affiliate of Vingroup, said it sets to become a biggest automobile company in Southeast Asia with a designed capacity of 500,000 cars annually in 2025. Mr. Phuc said: “Vietnam has applied high technology in production in all sectors. It’s important to study the market and consumption trends in Vietnam, ASEAN, and the world so we’ll have appropriate investment plans.”
