Vietnam’s tuna exports to EU surge thanks to EVFTA
(VOVWORLD) - Thanks to the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), Vietnam’s tuna exports to the EU in September skyrocketed to nearly 12 million USD, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The Ministry presented the figures at a conference in Khanh Hoa province on promoting tuna production, fighting against IUU fishing (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing), and exporting tuna to the EU market under EVFTA agreement, which took effect in August.
Under EVFTA, the EU will eliminate tariffs on 86.5% of Vietnam's seafood export within the next 3 years, 90.3% within the next five years, and 100% in line with the seven-year roadmap.
