(VOVworld) - Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, received General Herbert Carlisle, Commander of the US’ Pacific Air Forces in Hanoi yesterday. Ty acknowledged the US Department of Defense for its cooperation in English-language training, search and rescue efforts, humanitarian aid, disaster mitigation, and recovery of US soldiers who went missing during the American war in Vietnam. General Carlisle suggested that both sides continue to exchange information, adding that the Pacific Air Forces will work closely with Vietnam in training personnel, aerospace medicine, disaster relief aid, airborne search and rescue operations, and ensuring safe flights.
