(VOVworld) - The European-standard dairy farm Vinamilk Organic Da Lat was inaugurated in Tu Tra commune, Don Duong district, the central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

Construction of the 70-hectare facility began in 2014 with an investment of 200 billion VND (8.7 million USD). In October 2016, it had 500 organic cows and was certified by the Control Union, a Dutch global network of inspection operations, as the first organic dairy farm in Vietnam adhering to the European standard.
Control Union representative Richard De Boer said the standard consists of three criteria – no growth hormone, no antibiotics and no pesticides. CEO of the Vietnam Dairy Products Company (Vinamilk) Mai Kieu Lien said the farm reflects efforts for clean and sustainable production and there will be more like this to be built in the future. Vinamilk wants Vietnamese consumers to enjoy high-quality products at reasonable prices.
