Vu Duc Dam, Pham Binh Minh nominated Deputy Prime Ministers

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Tuesday submitted a proposal to the National Assembly, nominating Ministers Vu Duc Dam and Pham Binh Minh Deputy Prime Ministers. Prime Minister Dung said: "Vu Duc Dam is a well-trained cadre who has taken up many important posts in the government apparatus. He has always fulfilled his tasks assigned by the government and is qualified to assume the post of Deputy Prime Minister. He’s supposed to be in charge of cultural, social, scientific, educational and training issues. As Vietnam’s Foreign Minister, Pham Binh Minh has contributed significantly to the national foreign affairs’ achievements and international integration process." The nomination results will be announced during National Assembly’s meeting session on Wednesday.

Earlier, the National Assembly approved a Resolution on adding one more Deputy Prime Minister, raising the total number of Deputy PMs to 5 with 87.75% approval. National Assembly deputies discussed and approved a Resolution on State Budget Estimate for next year. They also listened to NA chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung reading a report on removing Nguyen Thien Nhan from the Deputy Prime Minister post and adding one more Deputy Prime Minister. In the afternoon, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang reported on amendments and supplements to the Draft Law on domestic waterway traffic. Law-makers  also discussed the revised Public Notary Law.
