Mr. Morris, who is a former British Ambassador to Vietnam, made the statement as Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue begins a three-day official visit to the UK on Tuesday.
Morris said he believes Mr. Hue's visit presents an opportunity to develop parliamentary links between the two countries, adding that the two have plenty of common ground, which he hopes will lead to closer parliamentary relations.
According to Mr. Morris, the VUKN, a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers, continues its efforts to strengthen bilateral links across a wide range of sectors.
It has introduced British people to Vietnam, highlighted opportunities for trade and investment, and encouraged links in education, energy, the environment, and social welfare.
