War veterans remember battle of Gac Ma
(VOVWORLD) - 500 war veterans who fought to defend Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago 30 years ago met on Wednesday in Hoa Vinh town, Phu Yen province, to commemorate the battle of Gac Ma.

The annual event has been held for 11 consecutive years by Phu Yen’s Truong Sa Soldiers Liaison Board, reconvening war veterans from across Vietnam to recall memories of the heroic period when they bravely defended Vietnam’s sacred sea and island sovereignty.
