Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung and his wife were present at the event, with the pair taking part in the occasion which is part of a range of activities to mark the 55th founding anniversary of ASEAN.

Upon addressing the opening of the function, Cambodian Ambassador to the US Keo Chhea affirmed the bloc’s central role in the region and the strong desire among member countries to promote solidarity and co-operative relations with partners.
He also expressed his wish for ASEAN Family Day to be an opportunity for members of ASEAN embassies to exchange friendship and deepen mutual understanding.
ASEAN Family Day represents an annual event which aims to reinforce unity and friendship among the ASEAN community in Washington D.C.
