(VOVworld) - The World Bank (WB) has said it had recently approved an extra fund of 119 million USD for the ongoing Urban Water Supply and Wastewater Project in Vietnam.

Approved by the WB Board of Executive Directors in May 2011, the project includes 14 subprojects across 10 provinces with an average population size of 100,000 in the urban centres. Most of the additional fund has been earmarked for a wastewater and drainage subproject in the southern province of Binh Duong. The remaining will be used to cover cost overruns due to the appreciation of the US dollar and offer the Ministry of Construction technical support to prepare a new water supply project in the Mekong Delta.
