In an interview with Fox News, White House spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany blamed Antifa, an anti-fascist group, for the violence. US President Donald Trump on Sunday listed this group as a terrorist organization.
On Monday, Trump said his administration will ensure justice for George Floyd and his family.
“I’m mobilizing all available federal resources, surveillance, and military to stop the looting, end the destruction, and protect the rights of law abiding Americans, including their second Amendments rights,” he said.
New York's mayor Bill de Blasio on Monday declared a city curfew from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., as anti-racism protests grip the US with repeated outbreaks of violence and looting.
