(VOVworld) - US President Barack Obama confirmed on Monday the Islamic State’s execution of US aid worker Peter Kassig. The White House announcement came as President Obama flew back to Washington after the trip last week to the Asia Pacific summit. Obama described the beheading as an act of pure evil in inhumanity.

The act triggered global anger. French Prime Minister Manuel Valls condemned the execution of Kassig as a "barbaric act" which just intensified France’s determination to fight IS. British Prime Minister David Cameron said he was horrified by the murder.
