White House details Trump's Asia visit itinerary

(VOVWORLD) - The White House on Monday provided details of US President Donald Trump's travel to Asia next month.

Trump's November 3-14 tour will take him to Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Hawaii. The trip will underscore his commitment to longstanding US alliances and partnerships, and reaffirm US leadership in promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

President Trump will travel to Danang, Vietnam, on November 10 to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economic leaders' meeting and deliver a speech at the APEC CEO summit. The White House said he will present the US’s vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific region and underscore the important role the region plays in advancing America's economic prosperity.

On November 11, President Trump will travel to Hanoi for an official visit to Vietnam. He will meet with President Tran Dai Quang and other senior Vietnamese leaders.

In his stop in Manila, the US President will participate in a special gala dinner celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

On November 13, he will join in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of US-ASEAN relations at the US-ASEAN summit.
