(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received on Tuesday Director of the World Health Organization for the West Pacific region Shin Young-soo who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Prime Minister Dung said that Vietnam paid special attention to people’s healthcare as part of its efforts to implement the millennium development goals. He expressed his hope for continued assistance from the WHO in policy counseling, management, and personnel training.

Shin Young-soo said the WHO will support Vietnam in caring for the people’s health and achieving the nation’s health development targets.

Topics for discussion included improving the quality of medical check-ups and treatment, communication on epidemic prevention, and different forms of health insurance.
