(VOVworld) – Nearly 18,000 workers and 90 contractors have resumed their work in Vung Ang economic zone in Ha Tinh province.

Ho Anh Tuan, Head of the Management Board of Vung Anh economic zone said 15,000 of 18,000 workers were foreign ones. In Formosa project alone, 89 contractors including 12 Taiwanese and 12 Chinese ones have returned to their work. Agencies, sectors and local authorities are helping riot-affected enterprises with favorable procedures and dealing with the aftermath of the disturbances. Mr. Ho Anh Tuan: "The functional agencies will assure safety for enterprises, investors especially foreign ones. We also strictly follow the province’s plan to assure safety and security in Vung Ang economic zone". 

So far, 99 people have been arrested and 36 others were brought to trial for causing social disorder and property looting.
